Planning that we're responsible for:

Regional Spatial Strategy and Local Development Frameworks The strategy sets out policies for the sustainable development of the region's economy, infrastructure, transport, housing and other land uses over the period to 2021.

Planning Contributions Strategy On 29th March 2007 Nottinghamshire County Council approved their Planning Contributions Strategy. The aim of the Strategy is to provide a fair, consistent and transparent basis for the negotiation of planning contributions for those matters that affect the services and advice provided by the County Council.

Structure planning The County Structure Plan (jointly with Nottingham City Council) has been adopted and will continue in forceuntil the Regional Spatial Strategy (see regional planning ) replaces it.  The Structure Plan involves planning the amount and location of new development including homes, places of employment, shopping (retail planning), greenbelt and other facilities.

Minerals and waste planning Policies and proposals for using land for minerals and waste activities.

Development Control - (Planning Applications) - The County Council has responsibility for making decisions on minerals and waste planning applications and also on its own proposals for schools, libraries and roads, etc.

Planning and Landscape Briefing - Monthly bulletin containing information about planning and landscape matters.

Emergency planning Planning for the most effective response to major incidents and to ensure all essential Nottinghamshire County Council services are maintained.
